During you first visit with Dr. Eckert, he will take a health history and perform a physical examination. Tests such as an x-ray, nerve conduction study or MRI may be ordered if required to help learn more about your problem.
The Report of Findings
Dr. Eckert will go over all of the exam findings with you (including x-rays if taken), to make sure you are well informed regarding your condition. If you elect to be treated, he will develop a treatment plan specifically for you, with the main goal of restoring your health in the shortest time possible. The plan may even include advice on posture, exercise, diet and stress management.
Manipulation
Commonly called an adjustment, manipulation is perform by gently and carefully applying pressure to specific areas of your spine. Sometimes a “cracking” sound is heard. This is merely gasses expanding from the joint (like cracking your knuckles) and happens when a pressure is put upon a joint. The chiropractic adjustment is safe and effective. Some patients prefer to not hear the clicking sound of a manual manipulation, in which case, there are other methods of adjusting a joint without hearing the joint clicking. You and I will discuss other methods if that is the case.
